Cultural and language differences can complicate things.  The NWC has resources that can enhance your work.

Cross-cultural Literacy

MJMC offers Cultural Adaptation workshops.  Contact Lauren at MJMC for more information on accessing a workshop for your team.

Language Interpretation and Translation

Interpretation refers to the verbal exchange of information from one language to another, while translation refers to a written exchange.

  • MJMC compiles a list of volunteer interpreters and translators from the community that speak various languages. The list represents 24 countries and 28 languages. The list is circulated to emergency services and is available to the public upon request.
  • The NWC can assist in providing you with information for accessing certified translation or finding a language that is not available in the Moose Jaw area
  • The NWC has a collection of materials in various languages on a wide variety of topics.  Let us know if you are looking for particular information in a particular language and we can help you find what you are looking for.
